Pagliarese Description
Pagliarese is a historic estate from Castelnuovo Berardenga, a close neighbor to both Felsina and Castell'in Villa. At one point, it was considered to be among the top estates of Chianti Classico but it was in need of some investment, particularly in the vineyards by the 1980's. The owners of Felsina bought the estate in 1995 and set out to replant 28 of the 32 hectares using a massale selection from the oldest vines at the property. Initially some of the grapes from Pagliarese were used for the Felsina’s Chianti Classico and in 2015, the family decided to make their inaugural release from the estate.

A fruity, juicy and vivid Chianti Classico showing notes of red berries, dried herbs and warm spices. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. It’s succulent and playful with a fresh, comforting finish.

The 2022 Chianti Classico is a rich, boisterous wine. Succulent dark red cherry, tobacco, incense, leather and tobacco are front and center. The Chianti Classico shows the richness of the year and yet conveys tons of nuance and energy. A blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Mammolo.
