This wine shows interesting aromas of black truffles, berries and earth. Full body, with tangy acidity and a citrus undertone. Lovely fruit and firmness. Structured. Best after 2016.
Offers blueberry and mineral on the nose. Full-bodied, with a tight tannin structure and juicy fruit. Bright acidity. Very lively.
Consistently a good value pick among shrewd consumers, this wine, from one of the estates Alain Vauthier owns in St.-Emilion beside the famous Ausone, has a dark purple color, a big, sweet kiss of black currants, raspberries, crushed rock, and floral notes. It is medium to full-bodied, displays good, sweet tannin, and comes across as slightly unevolved and may have just finished malolactic fermentation. I am not so sure it is as strong as his 2005, but this wine is very promising nevertheless.
Under the same ownership as Château Ausone, this is a smoky wine, with fresh tannins and blackcurrant fruit flavors that are bursting from the glass. It is beautifully fresh, with plenty of bright acidity.
