Brioche, honeycomb and buttered stone fruits all emerge from the 2016 Saint Joseph La Source Blanc, which has terrific minerality, as well as medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It has a toasty/oaky edge and gains more and more richness with time in the glass. It will be better this time next year and keep for 4-5.
Limpid yellow. Powerful, mineral-tinged aromas of pear nectar and white peach, joined by hints of honey, jasmine and fennel that build with air. Sappy, concentrated and supple on the palate, offering gently sweet orchard and pit fruit flavors sharpened by a spicy ginger nuance. Finishes juicy and long; echoes of citrus zest and dusty minerals add focus and lift.
